We accommodate about 25 guests at a time. Our first guests usually arrive the end of May. Our last guests depart the lodge around mid-September.
Tower Rock Lodge does not hire couples. Proof of current driver's license is required.
Transportation/Travel- For most positions, TRL will provide $200 up & $200 return. TRL has a travel repayment program to assist with the initial expense of purchasing tickets if necessary.

Vacation is a time for the guests to enjoy the wildness of Alaska, complete with anecdotes and AK information. Room & Board - TRL provides free housing and all meals. Employees are housed in shared cabins or house with accessible bathrooms. Our staff accommodations are near the lodge but self-sustaining. The guides prepare meals and some interesting culinary paths are explored. All participants in the daily meals are required to pick up after themselves.
Dress Standards – Our employees will be required to maintain good grooming standards. We are looking for healthy, outdoor friendly and presentable staff members.
Fishing Guide – CLOSED
$ D.O.E. TRL employs 6 fishing guides, and 2 guide trainees. Our fishing guides should have previous guiding experience. Must be eligible for a USCG vessel operator's license, TWIC card, and have CPR/First Aid. Our fishing guides are well-rounded anglers and versatile. We fish a variety of waters with both power and drift boats. This is a full season position starting about mid-May and continuing through September. TRL pays 50% of Guide Schooling and 100% of Guide Licensing.
Guide Trainee –OPEN
A great way to start for those interested in the Alaskan sport fishing lodge business. This position combines guiding, boat shuttling, fish runs, getting gas for boats, with light administrative work. This person should know a fair amount about fishing tackle, equipment and gear. Must be physically fit and capable of heavy lifting and physical work. This is an entry-level position. Guiding experience is preferred. Position starts around late May and ends around late September.
Chef –OPEN
We are currently seeking a talented and dynamic Executive Chef with a culinary and catering background to join our team. Strong communications skills and an energetic personality are a must! The chef will supervise all kitchen staff, plan the menu and is responsible for food purchases and inventories. Kitchen Assistant –CLOSED
This position assists the Cook with the breakfast preparation, kitchen cleaning and dishes. The kitchen assistant is also responsible (along with a support staff member) for preparing all shore lunches in-house. This position is traditionally 50% kitchen and food prep work, and 50% washing dishes and serving. This is a split shift, with duties in the morning and evening. Mid May to September 30.
Assistant Lodge Manager and Customer Service – CLOSED
We are seeking an individual with excellent communication and people skills. This position entails assisting the lodge manager, greeting guests and taking photos of our clients (with their BIG fish catches). A working knowledge of graphic design and Mac programs such as numbers, pages, excel and word is a plus.
Support Staff – OPEN
This position assists in all areas of camp maintenance. Support staff perform housekeeping duties, manage the greenhouse and chicken coop, build the evening fire, assist in preparing shore lunches and wash dishes, in addition to miscellaneous duties that arise throughout the season. Mid May to September 30.
Digital Media / Photography Intern–OPEN
A truly unique opportunity to be paid while experiencing the best excursions Alaska has to offer! At Tower Rock Lodge we are in search of a summer intern/individual responsible for capturing photos and videos of our day-to-day operations and outdoor excursions (fishing, food, lodge life, nature!). As the digital media intern you will be given the unique opportunity to ride along on some of our day-to-day fishing excursions to capture the beautiful scenery, our guests, the amazing fish caught and wildlife here in Alaska. We ask that we are given the right to these photos for marketing purposes (social media, website, etc.) throughout the season as well as a full portfolio at the end. (Details will be discussed at time of interview). You will also be given the opportunity to give these photos to our guests in exchange for compensation (print or digital format). This position does not necessarily require your stay for the entire summer, but is an option if you so choose (2 month minimum). Like other positions at TRL, room and board is included as well as transportation to the lodge. Compensation: DOE. Access to adequate equipment (camera, drone, video editing capabilities) is not necessarily required, but is preferred. Social media expertise is a plus. Please be prepared to provide samples of past work.
